What is Composite Fabric

Composite fabric is a material made by bonding two or more different fabrics or layers together, often combining textiles with films, foams, or membranes. This creates a single fabric with enhanced performance and unique characteristics.

Differences between composite fabric and ordinary fabric

Construction

Composite fabric: Adds an extra process—bonding a layer of white lining to the back.
Ordinary fabric: Consists of just a single layer.

Texture

Composite fabric: Stiffer and more structured
Ordinary fabric: Feel softer and more flexible

Shading rate

Composite fabric: Composite fabrics come with a layer of composite lining that provides a certain level of light blocking.
Ordinary fabric: Ordinary fabrics have weaker shading and require an additional lining.

Shade Styles

Composite fabric: Shades made with composite fabric hold a crisp, neat shape, making them ideal for Roman shade styles such as plain fold, flat fold, pleated fold, and soft fold. They are not suitable for relaxed styles.
Ordinary fabric: Work well with all styles.
